Resurrection and Atonement and Lev. 16

Mark Bonnington from King’s church Durham has written a great post on Resurrection and Atonement in Paul, in which he asked:

It seems reasonable to conclude that any view of the atonement that speaks exclusively of Christ’s death as dealing with sin doesn’t do justice to Paul’s understanding of atonement. Bluntly a dead saviour is not enough to take away our sins. Why does Paul think that the resurrection is essential to the atonement?

Read the entire post and pay attention to his use of Leviticus 16.
