我知,走入一間drugstore,買罐汽水,唔用碎紙用debit card,是自找麻煩的。

但我那天晚上是真的身無分文。

那個亞裔老板娘,一望見我陶出來的debit card,就狠狠的說:

“No, I’m not gonna take ANY card for 55 cents.”

“Oh, but that’s what I’ve got.” 我無奈的說,但卻詫異她的語氣…

“No…” 她斬釘切鐵的說。跟著她就拿走那罐汽水,轉身行去放回冰箱內。

坦白說,我有心理準備她不賣給我。但對那一句”No, I’m not gonna take ANY card for 55 cents”,我詫異的是她對人客的基本態度。

這讓我有「我犯了甚麼事?」的感覺。

我明白,用Moneris 一類的服務,手續費是by transaction的。賣罐汽水,你可能會倒轉頭蝕俾我。這個我明。但那是你和那些服務商的問題。我用debit card不是犯法的。你當然有權不賣給我,但你的態度可否好一點?

有否考慮:

“I am sorry, but due to the cost, we can’t make transaction for anything less than (X amount)”.

很難明嗎?我的要求很無理嗎?

  1. if i were you, i would definitely say something and make sure she knows that that’s not the way to deal with customers.

    as an employee of a drugstore myself, i totally understand how hard sometimes it is when dealing with grumpy customers but i am sure you are not among those groups of people.

    just so you know Shoppers Drug Mart do take debit card even if you buy a pop of $0.55, so next time you know where to go, hahahaha…:)
