Markham municipal election is coming. There are 7 Elected Office positions available in the Town of Markham, and the term of office for these positions is 4 years, starting Dec 1, 2006, and ending Nov 30 2010:

• Mayor – One to be elected by all eligible voters in Markham.
• Regional/Local Councilors – Four to be elected by all eligible voters in Markham.
• Ward/Local Councilors – One to be elected for each of Wards 1-8, inclusive.
• Member of the York Region District School Board.
• Member of the York Catholic District School Board.
• Member of the Conseil Scolaire De District Du Centre-Sud-Ouest
