Focus

Well, turns out it is Boston in 6. Now that the series is over, what do you think of it?

For me, I learned 2 things:

  1. Kobe Bryant is no Michael Jordan. Not only that, even if he is, LA will still lose because his teammates are not like the Bulls.
  2. You sure need offense, but you win by defense.

“They came in with no egos. Everything was about one thing — they came here to win a championship. It went throughout the whole team. Everybody bought in.” — P.J. Brown

When was the last time you were that focus?

Boston in 7

After last night, what do you think?

I’ll say Boston in 7.

Jenny, Vincent, what do you think?

[This is really scary when they even blink at the same time!]

Why is it good when the Heat won …

The Miami Heat won their first NBA title ever, with D Wade averaging 34.6 point/game, the Heat bounces back from a 2-game deficit by winning the next 4 in a roll. The determination to win despite of great obstacles makes this playoff final a great series and bring out the best spirit in sports.

Also, it is good to see veteren players like Payton and Walker finally get their rings this time. Although not many people like the way these 2 played all along, their win make one feels that dreams can really come true at times (contrasting Malone & Stockton).

And best of all, how about Mourning playing with someone else’s kidney for the last 2.5 years? Isn’t that great to see him with a Championship ring?

But next time, please, don’t put the 63 wins Spurs (No.2) to play against the 60 wins Mavericks (No.3) in the semi-finals! That’s bounded to kill a lot of fans with heart attacks!

(And for the record, I did not mention anything which remotely resembles the 4-letter word: S-H-A-Q in this post — well except here)
