Brazos Theological Commentary on the Bible

Finally! Some theologians who actually read the Bible, gathered, and are going to write commmentaries on it:

The Brazos Theological Commentary on the Bible series enlists leading theologians to read and interpret Scripture for the twenty-first century, just as the church fathers, the Reformers, and other orthodox Christians did for their times and places.

The general editor for the Brazos Theological Commentary on the Bible is R. R. Reno (Creighton University). Series editors include Robert W. Jenson (Center of Theological Inquiry); Robert Louis Wilken (University of Virginia); Ephraim Radner (Ascension Episcopal Church in Pueblo, Colorado); Michael Root (Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary); and George Sumner (Wycliffe College in Toronto).

And here is a list of some big names:

  • Vanhoozer on Jeremiah,
  • Jenson on Ezekiel,
  • Sumner on Daniel,
  • Hauerwas on Matthew,
  • Pelikan on Acts
  • Webster on Ephesians, and
  • Hunsinger on Philippians

Yes, I know! None of them are known for their exegetical works!
