講道主題

正在踱緊明年的講道主題。

也想聽聽各位的意見。你認為：

    Personally, I would like to hear something about spiritual discipline or the Fruit of the Spirit. Perfect length: 40 min., i.e. if you have difficulty shortening the message, speak faster ;)

    Also, you are very good at making illustrations and telling stories. We’d like to hear more, esp. not only at the beginning of the message. I think these make sermons accessible to ppl of different age groups or backgrounds in the congregation.

    There are three themes that I believe brothers and sisters desperately need in MGC: (1) Encouragement that gives b/s strength to face their daily struggles in life (note: this theme is more ad hoc than the following two, which can be presented in series); (2) Why and how do we manifest our spiritual gifts in our workplace, our family, and our other social circles; and (3) casting and re-casting MGC Leaders’ vision periodically (e.g. quarterly).

    As mentioned to you before, I am a strong supporter of Martin Luther in terms of sermon length: “A sermon should not be more than 30 minutes so as not to provoke the congregation.” I find a certain wisdom in this. :)
